Gunfire exchanged between police, suspect in Dayton

The shots were fired while police executed a search warrant.

No one was injured during an incident that involved gunfire between police and a suspect in a northwestern suburb of the Twin Cities on Tuesday.

The issue began at approximately 4:20 p.m. when officers from the Dayton and Maple Grove police departments were conducting a search warrant on the 12000 block of Pineridge Way North.

While there, a person inside the home shot a gun, prompting one officer to return fire.

Details are extremely limited, and the only information the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is releasing is that two suspects surrendered and are now in custody.

The investigation remains active and no further information is available.
