Kids clothing chain Gymboree is closing six of its 12 Minnesota locations after filing for bankruptcy protection last month.

The San Francisco-based company is shuttering 350 stores across the country, and the closures in Minnesota will leave the company with just six locations in the state.

Gymboree also owns the Crazy 8 children's clothing chain, and two of its four Twin Cities outlets will be closing as well.

Which stores are closing?

You can see the full list here, courtesy of USA Today, with Minnesota closures affecting the following stores:

  • Southdale Center, Edina.
  • Burnsville Center.
  • River Hills Mall, Mankato.
  • Eden Prairie Center.
  • Shoppes at Arbor Lakes, Maple Grove.
  • Medford Outlet Center.

Stores that have survived the closures are those in Duluth, Rochester, St. Cloud, Woodbury, Medford and at the Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka.

The Crazy 8 stores closing are in Burnsville and at the Woodbury Lakes Shopping Center.

The company also operates Janie and Jack, but its stores at the Mall of America and Twin Cities Premium Outlets will remain open. Closing sales at affected stores are expected to start on Tuesday.

The Star Tribune reports the reduction of Gymboree stores in the country could provide an opportunity for Target to fill the gap, with the company having previously said it was well placed to take advantage of openings created by the struggles of established retail rivals.
