Your nose is red, your fingers are tingling and your car sounds sluggish when you give it the gas. But plan to layer up a little longer before heading out in the Minnesota cold, so bitter that it's dangerous.

KSTP reported that the attention-getting wind-chills kicked in Sunday morning, with wind-chills of 20 to 35 below zero, which is uncharacteristically cold for this late in February.

Don't complain if you're shivering in the southern half of Minnesota. The Bemidji Pioneer tracks the cold up north and finds wind chills at 48 below zero in Bemidji, 44 below in Crookston and Thief River Falls.

Patience is the best way to get through this cold snap. KARE 11 reassures viewers that the cold will last throughout the day on Sunday, but will ease as the work week begins. It could be as high as 20 degrees above zero on Monday.

At least the sun is shining.
