One of the two eagles that tangled midair during a tussle last month and fell to a Duluth airport tarmac was released Wednesday after a few weeks of rehabilitation, the Duluth News Tribune reported.

The raptor spent some healing time at Wildwoods in Duluth and also the Raptor Center of Minnesota in St. Paul. The bird suffered wounds in the crash-landing to its feet, legs and abdomen, the newspaper reported.

The bird was released into the wild from the Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center in Hastings, Minn., in Washington County, the newspaper reported.

The other bird had flown off shortly after the May 12 incident.
