Pilot dies in helicopter crash in southeast Minnesota
Authorities have confirmed a fatal helicopter crashed in southeast Minnesota on Monday.
KTTC has confirmed that the crash killed the Texas pilot, who was apparently crop dusting when the crash occurred. Witnesses told the TV station that the chopper's blades made contact with power lines, causing the crash and a fire around 3:50 p.m.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it is investigating after the Robinson R-44 helicopter crashed near Elgin, with KTTC saying the crash happened just south of the small southeaster Minnesota town.
Elgin is located approximately 20 miles northeast of Rochester.
A Robinson R-44 is a four-seat general aviation helicopter.
No further information has been released.
