A sheriff's deputy in Hennepin County has been suspended pending an investigation after he was charged with child sex crimes in Wisconsin.
Deputy Jeffrey Jon Masek, 60, has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office confirmed to BMTN.
The move was taken after his superiors learned he had been arrested on criminal charges in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He appeared in Barron County Circuit Court on Monday.
The 60 year old from Dresser, Wisconsin was one of 7 caught in a series of underage sex stings.
The Chronotype reports police posted a personal ad on Mar. 21 posing as a 15-year-old girl looking for sex, to which Masek responded saying he was an "older, father type" and hoped she wouldn't mind.
They arranged to meet at a store parking lot in Rice Lake, at which point he was arrested, telling officers: "This is the worst day of my life."
He is facing three child sex charges, according to his Barron County Jail listing.
