Here's when the popular Dogfish Head beer will finally be available in MN

Beer lovers have waited years for this.

News that we'd no longer have to drive to Wisconsin to get our hands on the popular Dogfish Head craft beer broke late last year.

And now we finally know when it will get to the Twin Cities: March 27 (it's a Monday), a news release says.

The Delaware-based brewery was founded in 1995, and quickly developed a cult following for its strong beers made with uncommon ingredients, Express News writes.

In 2015 (the most recent data available), Dogfish Head was the 16th-largest brewery in the country, with 236,762 barrels in sales that year, according to the Brewers Association. To put that into perspective, Minnesota's largest brewery is August Schell Brewing Company, which sold 136,200 barrels in 2015.

Dogfish's plan to bring its beer to Minnesota is part of a multi-state expansion – in the coming year, the beer will be available in a total of 35 states and Washington, D.C., the release says.

You'll be able to get all of Dogfish's "off-centered ales," including: 90 Minute IPA, Namaste White, Indian Brown, 60 Minute IPA, SeaQuench Ale, Flesh & Blood IPA, Palo Santo Marron, Burton Baton, Midas Touch, and seasonal releases.

Where the beers will be sold hasn't been released, but you can find places that sell it using the brewery's beer finder (right now there's nothing listed for Minnesota).

“We have our new canning line pumping out beer and enough brewing capacity to ensure we can keep retailers well stocked with our off-centered, well-differentiated family of beers,” founder and CEO Sam Calagione said in the release.
