The St. Louis County Attorney's Office said a Hibbing man has pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $55,000 from a local Little League organization over a 10-year period, The Associated Press reported.

Jacob F. Smokrovich pleaded guilty Wednesday to theft and financial fraud.

Charges against Smokrovich came after Hibbing Police Department investigation, which revealed that he had taken $54,722 from the Hibbing Little League between 2001 and 2011, the Hibbing Daily Tribune reported.

Smokrovich has reportedly paid $20,000 in restitution already, and will pay back another $20,000 next year. He'll have two years to repay the remaining $14,722, upon which, charges will be dismissed.
