High school coach suspended for suggestive tweet to student

The Anoka High School girls' basketball coach, James Fassett, was suspended for two days in October after making a sexually suggestive comment on Twitter, according to the Star Tribune.

KSTP reports 44-year-old James Fassett was directing the message at a 15-year-old girl. The tweet read: "Do you need me to assign someone to butter your muffin."

The student's mother, who was not named, also saw another tweet from Fasset asking the teenager on a date to the Timberwolves game.

So outraged by the school district's lack of harsher consequences for Fassett, the woman pulled her daughter out of the school.

Fassett says the lewd tweet was a reference to a movie quote (Star Tribune says it comes from the 2004 movie "Mean Girls"), according to ABC Newspapers.

The coach is back on the job. His Twitter account is no longer active.
