A high school senior from Dodge Center, Minnesota, was killed in a rollover crash on Friday.

The Minnesota State Patrol confirmed that Logan Maas, 18, died in the accident in Dodge County just after 4:15 p.m., which saw a Ford Taurus go off the road and into a ditch on 275th Ave.

Maas was one of three passengers not wearing a seatbelt, and they were all thrown from the vehicle.

The two other passengers, girls aged 17 and 15 from West Concord, were taken to the hospital, as was the 17-year-old female driver, also from West Concord. Their conditions are unknown as this stage.

ABC 6 reports Maas was a senior at Triton Senior High School in Dodge Center.

He was also a volunteer at the local fire department, which has launched a GoFundMe page to raise money for his family to pay for his funeral and any unexpected costs.

"A family lost a member, a department lost their brother, and a community lost their friend," it says on the page, which has raised more than $2,700 so far. It adds that Maas volunteered alongside his father.

Reminders about wearing seatbelts have been heavily publicized in recent weeks, after crash claimed the lives of two high schoolers from Lakeville.

Gordy Pehrson, of the Department of Public Safety's young drivers program, told MPR: "Unfortunately, teens have a tendency to wear their seatbelts less often than other driving populations, partially because they feel invincible."
