High wind topples 440-foot TV tower in SE Minn.
The PBS affiliate in Austin will be off the air for at least the next few days until repairs can be made, the Daily Herald reports. The KSMQ-TV tower came crashing down as powerful storms moved across the area. Fortunately no injuries are reported.
ABC 6 News notes wind gusts of 60 to 75 miles per hour were reported around our area.
The severe weather also knocked out power in Rochester and other parts of southeastern Minnesota, according to the Rochester Post Bulletin.
