This is a little too close for comfort.

How would you react if you looked outside and saw a black bear walking through your yard in the Twin Cities metro area?

It happened at a home in North Oaks – about 15 miles from Minneapolis and St. Paul – Thursday evening, with Greta Schilling posting photos and video of the close encounter to Facebook.

"Had a visitor this evening.... watch your pets and children!!!!" Schilling wrote.

In the video from the family's doorbell app, a man inside the home sees the bear and shouts "holy (expletive)!" He then shouts at children from a house next door to get inside as they wandered dangerously close to the wild animal.

The video comes just weeks after a bear was spotted in a busy area adjacent to wetlands in nearby Circle Pines, and just days after a Maple Plain woman was killed by a bear on a remote island on Rainy Lake just miles north of the Minnesota-Canada border.
