Homicide detectives investigating deadly overnight shooting in Minneapolis

A man was shot and killed near 35W and Washington Ave. S.

Minneapolis police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened overnight. 

The department received a 911 call at 12:53 a.m. with the caller reporting shots fired, but while en route to the scene on the 1400 block of Washington Ave. S., officers learned that a private party had taken taken a shooting victim to Hennepin Healthcare. 

The male victim died at the hospital a short time later. 

The man's identity is being withheld pending review by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office. 

Homicide detectives are investigating the case. No arrests have been made and police are asking anyone with information to provide an anonymous tip by calling CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be texted in to 847411. Text "MPD" followed by a space and then the information. All texts are anonymous as well.
