Homicide in Robbinsdale leads to 10-hour standoff in Brooklyn Center

A homicide suspect was brought into custody in Brooklyn Center on Friday after ten hours of negotiations.  

At around 10:30 a.m. Friday, the Brooklyn Center Police Department requested assistance from Robbinsdale police to investigate a homicide that had occurred earlier that day in Robbinsdale. 

The suspect was reportedly located at a residence on the 6200 block of Unity Avenue in Brooklyn Center. 

Officers unsuccessfully tried to contact the suspect via phone before forming a perimeter around the house alongside SWAT Teams from the Robbinsdale, Crystal and New Hope police departments.

Negotiators were then able to contact the suspect, and negotiations continued for about ten hours, according to the Brooklyn Center Police Department. 

The suspect was brought into custody without incident. The individual was sought in connection to a homicide investigation at a home near France and Grimes in Robbinsdale.
