Homicide investigation underway after man found dead in Minneapolis

A man was shot multiple times Sunday night.

Minneapolis Police are investigating a possible homicide on the city's south side after a man was found shot dead Sunday night. 

Officers were notified of a shooting by ShotSpotter technology just after 8:30 p.m. on hte 2000 block of Portland Ave. Police arrived at the scene and found a man in his 40s inside the building who'd been shot multiple times. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Homicide detectives scoured the scene and collected evidence while also speaking to people in the area. 

The victim's identity and official cause of death will be released by a medical examiner at a later date.
