A masked man was arrested in Minneapolis after he allegedly stole a houseboat on the Mississippi River.

The drama unfolded on Sunday morning, with the man wearing a white hood with eye and mouth holes cut out of it taking the motor-less boat that was moored near to Nicollet Island.

Minneapolis PD said the boat was located near Boom Island, with the thief in possession of a long board that he was using to move the boat.

An officer waded out into the river and pulled the boat to the shore. The thief refused commands to surrender himself, with KARE 11 reporting he mentioned something about "maritime law."

An officer then used a Taser on him, and he was taken into custody. The suspect, who is in his 40s, is now awaiting charges.
