A horse has died and two people have been injured in an early Sunday morning collision in Dodge County, Minnesota.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened just after midnight on County Road 13 in rural Hayfield.
A driver and passenger from Kenyon, Minnesota, were injured when they struck a horse in the road. The impact of the crash caused the horse to go through the windshield.
The pair were taken to Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Their injuries are unknown.
The horse, a bay mare, was killed in the collision, and police were initially trying to identify the owner.
But after getting the word out on Sunday morning, they were able to track down the owner.
