House explodes in River Falls; extent of injuries unknown
A house explosion left two people injured in River Falls, Wisconsin, on Monday evening, according to a release from the city.
Authorities say the house exploded on the 400 block of River Hills Road, and two residents inside the home were helped out of the home by neighbors.
One victim was transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul and the other was taken to River Falls Area Hospital for care. The extent of their injuries was not released by police.
The River Falls Star-Observer reports that a neighbor "heard a boom followed by their door being blown open and their house shaking."
KARE 11 reports that the home is a "pile of rubble" and that a neighboring house sustained damage from the blast.
Police say the cause of the explosion is being investigated and that it doesn't appear that any criminal activity was involved.
