Three people were killed and three others escaped a house fire in a lakeside town about 70 miles east of Duluth on Monday morning.
According to the Ashland Police Department, the fire was reported on the 1300 block of Sixth Street West in Ashland at 9:33 a.m., with fire crews arriving at the scene to find three people who had escaped the flames.
Three others were found dead inside the home.
One of the three people who survived the fire was transported to Memorial Medical Center for burn injuries, police said.
The identities of the victims have not been released and the Wisconsin Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
