Huge pile-up closes I-94 in western Wisconsin

A video showing the wreckage from the collision has gone viral.

Interstate 94 is closed in western Wisconsin after a huge pile up involving as many as 40 vehicles.

Pictures and video were shared from the scene on I-94 in Osseo, with the interstate closed in both directions after the crash at around 12:30 p.m.

Images show a number of semi-trailers, trucks and cars were involved in the pile-up as heavy snow fell on the interstate.

Seven people were injured, one of whom is in a life-threatening condition. In total, the crash involved 33 cars and trucks, and 7 semis.

The Facebook video uploaded by Becca Lynn below shows the extent of the wreckage, and in the space of two hours has been shared more than 24,000 times on the social media site.

It comes on a day when Minnesota itself is seeing scores of spinouts and crashes in treacherous conditions, more on which you can read here.
