Human remains found after house fire in Hibbing
A house fire proved deadly overnight in the northern Minnesota City of Hibbing.
According to Hibbing Police Department, someone called 911 at 12:17 a.m. Tuesday to report a house fire at 1834 25th Street East. Police and Hibbing Fire Department arrived at the location and found the residence completely engulfed in flames.
After the fire was extinguished, human remains were found inside.
"The human remains will be transported to the Midwest Medical Examiners Officer for identification and to determine the cause of death," Hibbing PD said in a release.
An investigation into the fire remains active with assistance from the State Fire Marshal's Office.
Foul play is not suspected.
