Human remains found in burned out car in Western Wisconsin

Pierce County law enforcement officers in western Wisconsin are investigating human remains found in a burned vehicle five miles southwest of Ellsworth.

The Pioneer Press reports the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department received a call Saturday morning summoning deputies to a vacant barnyard in Trenton Township.

The remains were taken to the Ramsey County medical examiner's office, where they will undergo an autopsy and investigation.
