Human remains were discovered by walkers in a wood area in Brooklyn Center last weekend.

According to Brooklyn Center Police Department, the human bones were found Saturday, Jan. 12 around 12:30 p.m. in an area near 60th Avenue North and Vincent Avenue.

There was also a wallet on the ground near the remains.

Police say identification in the wallet matched that of a missing person from Minneapolis, but they are working with the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office to properly identify the remains.
