Possible skeletal human remains were found in a wooded area in New York Mills, Minnesota on Sunday.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office says a walker found what appeared to be bones by railroad tracks near the Lund Boat Company.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension set up a crime scene following the discovery just before 4 p.m.
The medical examiner's office is also involved. Police say there's no danger to the public.

The newspaper notes the last outstanding missing person case in the area is that of a disabled woman, 23-year-old Carla Anderson, who disappeared in 1987 – but there's no indication that the remains are hers.
