Hy-Vee joins other retailers in offering grocery delivery service in MN

Another grocery store is offering to deliver food to your door.

Hy-Vee, which is working to expand its footprint in the Twin Cities, announced it has expanded grocery delivery services to all of its 240 stores, which includes 19 in the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota.

Customers can order groceries online to either pick up in the store ($2.95 fee) or have them delivered ($4.95 fee) – fees are waived for orders over $100, Hy-Vee's website says.

Hy-Vee is following a trend of many grocery stores in offering delivery services. Minnesota-based retailers Target and Cub Foods are delivering groceries in the Twin Cities through the company Instacart (delivery fees vary), the Business Journal says, while Coborn's, Kowalski's Markets and Lunds and Byerly's all offer delivery for a fee as well.

This fall, Amazon announced it would be expanding its Amazon Prime Now service to the Twin Cities metro, so shoppers could get various items, including some foods, delivered within the hour.
