Incident in Maple Grove leaves woman dead, man in critical condition

Details are limited regarding an incident in Maple Grove that left a woman dead and a man fighting for his life. 

In a brief press release, the Maple Grove Police Department says officers responded to the 6600 block of Eagle Lake Drive at 7:42 p.m. Wednesday on a report of someone unconscious. 

On arrival, police found an injured man and woman and immediately began rendering aid to both. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

There are no details available about the types of injuries the victims suffered and their identities have not been released. 

However, the Star Tribune is reporting that the victims are a married couple and a man arrested at the scene is their son.

An active investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
