Shots fired were reported at 5:20 p.m., with police officers sent to the area of 30th Ave. N and Colfax Avenue North.

Upon arriving, officers found a male victim and gave first aid until paramedics arrived.

He was then taken to North Memorial Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

"Responding Officers canvased the area and Homicide Investigators responded to the scene to check for possible witnesses, evidence and surveillance video," Minneapolis PD spokesman John Elder said.

"The Crime Lab also responded to process the crime scene for evidence."
