A vehicle found charred by fire and left abandoned is the subject of investigation in Chisago County.

The local sheriff's office says the vehicle was found "burned out" at the Sunrise Ferry Road Landing. Deputies were able to find a Mazda hood emblem and a partial Minnesota license plate, but no other defining components of the car.

"At this time we don't know who the vehicle belongs to or how it ended up burned out and abandoned. We think it may have been dumped there between January 3-6," the Chisago County Sheriff's Office said.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to contact Deputy Lonetti by calling 651-213-6377.
