Investigation underway after body pulled from Mississippi River in St. Paul

It was found near the Robert Street bridge downtown.

The body of an as-yet unidentified man was recovered from the waters of the Mississippi River in downtown St. Paul this weekend.

Per a release from the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, the body was reported Friday morning by a caller who spotted it near the Robert Street bridge.

Sheriff's deputies as well as the St. Paul police and fire departments responded to the scene, recovering the deceased about two hours later in the same area:

The body, that of an adult male, is now in the custody of the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will identify him in the coming days.

Few other details were provided, but an investigation is now underway.

This comes a couple weeks after the body of a man was discovered upstream near Crosby Farm Regional Park and the Watergate Marina.
