Investigation underway after cat found shot through legs with arrow

Authorities are looking for the person who shot and seriously injured a cat with an arrow in Lincoln County last week.

The cat was found by its family at the side of their house in Lake Benton on Thursday night, according to a Facebook post. Both of its legs were shot through with an arrow, a sight which "absolutely horrified" the children who made the discovery.

That post has been shared more than 1,600 times and received nearly a thousand comments.

Few other details are available as yet. The cat seems to have survived the attack, but its current condition is unknown.
