Is Target planning to offer free shipping again for holiday season?

In the battle for holiday season supremacy last year, Target upped its game by offering free shipping on all orders from its website.

And though it is keeping its cards close to its chest for now, speculation is rife that the Minneapolis-based retailer will repeat the offer this year. reports it has been leaked a copy of Target's toy catalog, on the third page of which is an advert saying Target will offer free delivery and returns on all orders between Nov. 1 and Christmas Day.

It says customers in 48 states will be offered free, standard shipping with no minimum purchase, though a fee may apply for oversized orders.

Target has been tight-lipped following the website's leak story however, telling BringMeTheNews: "We have not yet shared any holiday news. We’ll be sharing our holiday plans in the coming weeks."

But it wouldn't be surprising given that another Twin Cities retailer, Best Buy, announced this week that it will offer free shipping on all orders, also with no minimum, starting Sunday and not ending until Jan. 2, 2016.

This is a departure from the retailer’s usual policy, which normally only allows for free shipping on orders $35 or more.

Last year, Target started its free delivery offer on Oct. 22, and ended it five days before Christmas.
