Restaurants can't offer "happy hour" drink discounts in Edina, and some restaurant owners say that hurts business as those seeking cheap drinks leave for the the surrounding cities. KSTP says the mayor and City Council are taking a hard look at the rules, and the council could take it up in late February.

Edina High School athletic director steps down amid probe

Under investigation by the school district, Edina High School athletic director and assistant principal John Soma resigned Monday. He said it was for personal reasons. The district put him on administrative leave in August and officials were looking into allegations "that had nothing to do with his employment at Edina Public Schools," a spokeswoman said.
