There are major traffic issues in the northwest metro Thursday morning after a jackknifed semi forced MnDOT to shut down eastbound Interstate 94 at Interstate 494.
The semi was hauling approximately 43,000 pounds of fruit, according to the State Patrol, which says eastbound I-94 will be closed for an extended period of time. That announcement was made at 6 a.m.
KSTP reports that the semi's two saddle fuel tanks spilled onto the freeway, though the fruit was still intact.
At 6:46 a.m., MnDOT's traffic website says the road will be closed for "the next two hours," though the situation is likely fluid.
