A semi that overturned and caught fire on southbound Interstate 694 in Oakdale near the Interstate 94 exit has temporarily shutdown the southbound traffic.

The State Patrol announced the crash around 6:15 p.m., saying all southbound traffic is being diverted to the I-94 west ramp.

In addition, the left chute lane of northbound I-494 at the I-94 interchange is completely blocked.

The MnDOT website says the roadway is expected to remain blocked until approximately 11:30 p.m., though trucks with cranes and clean-up crews were already on the scene as of 7:30 p.m.

The driver of the semi sustained non-critical injuries.

No further information has been released.
