Jogger finds dead body in Stearns County ditch

The body was located Monday afternoon.

Foul play is not suspected after a jogger found a body in a ditch in central Minnesota on Monday.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office reports that a jogger was on County Road 5 near 65th Avenue in Brockway Township around 3:45 p.m. and spotted a body in the ditch.

Deputies arrived at the location and confirmed the person to be dead. The St. Cloud Times reports that it was the body of a woman.

"No foul play is suspected, and the Sheriff’s Office does not believe there is any criminal activity associated with the death," the department said in a news release.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office will determine a cause of death and identity the person at a later stage.
