Jordy Nelson spent the night in the hospital after vicious hit
Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson took a helmet to his left side on Sunday and the result was a night in the hospital with pretty scary injuries.
Specific injury details haven't been released by the Packers, but NFL orthopedic surgeon Dr. Mark Adickes says a hit like Nelson took would cause concern for broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a lacerated spleen. Packers reporter Ryan Wood adds that head coach Mike McCarthy wouldn't detail the injury other than to call it a rib injury.
McCarthy, however, says Nelson could play Sunday against Dallas if he's able to practice Saturday. But he'll be out of practice through at least Friday.
Aaron Rodgers threw for 362 yards and 4 touchdowns without Nelson in a 38-13 win over the Giants. Randall Cobb and Devante Adams picked up Nelson's slack with more than 200 receiving yards and three touchdowns for Cobb.
