Keep your cell phone safe this music festival season

One of the hundreds of phones stolen at music festivals this summer shouldn't be yours.

While rapper Kevin Gates may brag about having two phones, odds are you probably only have the one, so you probably want to take good care of it.

If you're headed to any of this summer's festivals, that could put your cell's safety in jeopardy. Case in point, the big story coming out of Coachella is a man was arrested for stealing over 100 phones.

How he was thwarted is a reminder of how you can help keep your phone safe in 2017.

We live in a miraculous age where the "Find My Phone" app exists. According to Apple, the Find my Phone app allows the phone owner to see their missing device on a map or play a sound.

Additionally, Lost Mode can be used to lock, track, or remotely erase all of one's personal information.

Given that this one guy was found with over a hundred phones – potentially capable of catching him an estimated 25,000 Pokémon – it's fair to guess there's quite a few phone thieves looking to boost your Boost, intercept your iPhone and drop your Droid.

Be alert, have your back-ups, and if something happens where your phone goes missing, work with your fellow festival-goers to help apprehend these phone wolves.
