A group of about 30 family members and friends of Kira Trevino searched Keller Regional Park in Maplewood, including the frigid water of Keller Lake, on Sunday after police had been there Saturday, the Pioneer Press reports.

The motto for the day was, "Be the good you want to see in the world," Trevino's sister Kerri Anne Steger told the newspaper. "That's what everyone here is doing -- helping look for my sister." Strangers also showed up to volunteer. “This family needs closure,” Martha Lund, of New Hope, who had never met Trevino, told the Star Tribune.

Police tweeted this Sunday:

Acting on tips Saturday, police had searched the 248-acre park, at the intersection of Minnesota 36 and U.S. 61, roughly five minutes from Trevino's home.

Investigators were reviewing an "item of interest" found on Saturday at Keller park that may be related to the case, FOX 9 reported. Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigators were analyzing it, FOX reported. Police wouldn't offer details.

KARE 11 reported that "according to Facebook," a woman told police she saw two men carrying what appeared to be a rug on Keller Lake between 1 and 2 a.m. the night Trevino disappeared.

Trevino, 30, of St. Paul, a manager at a Mall of America store, was last seen Feb. 21 and reported missing by her husband Feb. 24. Her husband, Jeffery Trevino, 39, has been charged with second-degree murder. Investigators have said blood was found at their home, but she remains missing.

Another group of searchers on Sunday combed through Crosby Farm Park in St. Paul, KSTP reports. Police have received about 100 tips in the case, KSTP reports.
