Twin Cities TV station KSTP has made a complaint to Anoka Police Department after someone severed its camera cables while a reporter was recording in the city earlier this week.

The incident happened on Monday, with a photo showing the cut cables shared on Twitter by reporter Kirsten Swanson.

Swanson was reporting from Danno's Bar in downtown Anoka, which was one of the establishments warned by the state of Minnesota for failing to adhere to COVID-19 rules.

On Thursday, Swanson provided an update saying that the station "has filed a police report against this individual," before thanking those who messaged their support after her original post.

Anoka Police Department has confirmed to BMTN that a property report has been filed.

Not only did it say it was "actively investigating" the case, but Anoka PD is expecting to file charges in it next week, suggesting it knows who is responsible.
