A 17-year-old girl was killed as the result of an accident that happened Friday in Red Wing, Minnesota.

According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the Mercury SUV the teen was riding in was attempting to turn off of Highway 61 when it collided with a semi truck heading the opposite direction.

Three other people were in the SUV at the time, including two children who received non-fatal injuries. The driver, a 35-year-old woman, was also injured.

DPS identifies the 17-year-old as Karina Rosemeri Gonzalez-Baltazar of Lake City.

The driver of the semi, a 41-year-old man also from Lake City, was not injured. All involved were wearing their seatbelts.

Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the crash, though few other details have been released.
