Two students at Lakeville South High School died and two of their classmates were injured in a rollover crash after school Friday.
A statement from Lakeville Area Public Schools says the one-vehicle crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. at Dodd Blvd. and 205th Street.

Grief support was made available at the high school, where all after-school and weekend activities were canceled. The district's statement added:

This is an extremely difficult time for our students, our families, our staff and our community. Hundreds of students from both North and South high schools and their families have gathered to grieve. We may have two high schools, but we are one Lakeville. We will be providing support and counselors for students and staff as long as needed.

The Dakota County Sheriff's office says two males were thrown from the truck and were dead at the scene. Two other males were hospitalized.

Sheriff Tim Leslie's statement says a passerby spotted the overturned truck and a passenger wandering near it. The crash is being investigated and relatives of the deceased notified.

FOX 9 says alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.

The Pioneer Press notes that on the same date two years ago – Dec. 4, 2013 – a Lakeville North student, Alyssa Lynn Ettl, died in a crash after losing control of her car on a slush-covered road.

This year has already seen more traffic deaths in Minnesota than 2014.
