Regular users of I-94 can expect some disruption on the 15-mile stretch of the road between Monticello and Clearwater starting Wednesday.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says overnight lane closures will start on both sides of the road as part of a road resurfacing and widening project between the two cities.
But while they're "overnight," the actual closures will be in effect during the evening and morning commutes, with eastbound I-94 reduced to one lane from 6 p.m. to noon.
Westbound I-94 meanwhile will go down to one lane from 5 p.m. to 10 a.m.
These closures will be in place through November, with crews building temporary lanes to prepare for the upcoming resurfacing.
MnDOT revealed its plans for that stretch of interstate in January, saying it will add a third lane and resurface the rest as part of $350 million-worth of improvements to I-94 between Maple Grove and Clearwater.
