A fire at the Magellan Midstream Partners fuel plant rocked West Fargo early Sunday morning.

According to the company's website, the fire started around 5:30 a.m. and was contained to an above-ground fuel tank that carried as much as 43,000 barrels of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel.

The blaze sent a giant black cloud of hazardous smoke into the sky, prompting authorities to issue a code-red alert for residents within a five-mile radius of the blaze. The smoke wasn't toxic, but it was deemed hazardous, especially to people with pre-existing respiratory conditions, according to KVRR

The West Fargo Police Department announced that the fire was safely out by about 1 p.m. and the code-red had been canceled.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined. Nobody was injured in the fire.
