Police in St. Paul are investigating a shooting that left a man dead late Saturday evening.

The incident was reported at 11:15 p.m., with paramedics sent to Kennard Street North and Ross Avenue in the city's East Side on report of an assault.

When they got to the scene, they found a young man lying in the street with a gunshot wound. He was unconscious and not breathing, and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

At this stage nobody has been arrested in connection with the shooting, and police are asking for anyone with information to call them at 651-266-5650.

The victim will be identified at a later date by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.

It's the second apparent homicide in the Twin Cities on Saturday, following one from a death at an apartment in Minneapolis' Como neighborhood in the morning.
