Light rail train hits pedestrian in St. Paul, delaying Green Line
A pedestrian has been struck by a light rail train in St. Paul, disrupting service on the Green Line.
It happened on Friday night near the Dale Street Station, which is in the Frogtown neighborhood:
Emergency crews were responding to the incident, which delayed eastbound trains.
No other details have been released, but a Metro Transit spokesperson tells KSTP "the pedestrian was conscious and breathing while being transported to a hospital."
This is the second pedestrian hit by a light rail near Dale Street Station in the last year; in August, a woman was struck and killed while walking in a crosswalk on University Ave.
Friday night's incident also comes less than a month after a 13-year-old boy was killed by a Northstar commuter train in Coon Rapids.
