Severe storms bring heavy rain, strong winds to Minnesota

Damage is being reported in southeast Minnesota.

A line of thunderstorms spread across Minnesota on Monday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to eastern parts of the state.

Damage is now being reported in the Red Wing area, which was under a tornado warning for a while Monday afternoon, and saw winds in excess of 80mph.

Minneapolis and St. Paul escaped the worst of it, but the southeast suburbs including South St. Paul, Woodbury and Cottage Grove got hit pretty hard.

There are electrical outages being reported affecting more than 15,000 households as of 7 p.m.
