Luxury apartments going up in St. Louis Park

A new 10-story, 192-unit luxury apartment complex is expected to open in March 2013 in the western Minneapolis suburb. The Star Tribune reports the $40 million project will feature a rooftop terrace, a clubroom and a piazza recreation area.

A new 10-story, 192-unit luxury apartment complex is expected to open in March 2013 in the western Minneapolis suburb. The Star Tribune reports the $40 million project will feature a rooftop terrace, a clubroom and a piazza recreation area.

The St. Louis Park Patch says rent will range between $1,350 and $2,045 per month, depending on the number of bedrooms and bathrooms.

Developers are scrambling to meet demand for high-end apartment complexes in the Twin Cities.

Meanwhile, a new comprehensive report from the Minnesota Housing Partnership shows more than 90 percent of the state's 87 counties have a shortage of inexpensive rental housing, the Star Tribune reports.
