The main building at a lakeside resort in Otter Tail County has been destroyed in a Thursday morning fire.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office says that it was called to the fire around 7:45 a.m. at the Wee Villa Resort on Long Lake.

The main lodge, which has been under renovation, is expected to be a total loss, as is an attached house.

It's believed that an electrical fault caused the fire.

Among those commenting on the fire is the Otter Tail Lakes Country tourist information center.

"Our thoughts are with Wee Villa Resort today. A fire destroyed the main building on their property north of Fergus Falls. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported," it wrote on Facebook.

"Many memories were made there over the years. We wish them the best as they deal with the situation."
