Two people were found dead inside a garage by a maintenance worker in West St. Paul on Thursday.

The West St. Paul Police Department reports that the maintenance worker called 911 at 3:46 p.m. after discovering the bodies on the 120 block of Thompson Avenue West.

"Due to the time that has passed since the deaths, officers are not able to determine the cause of death at this time," police said.

It's unclear how long the bodies had been in the garage prior to being discovered.

A medical examiner will determine the cause of death and identity the victims at a later stage of the investigation.
