A 21-year-old Michigan man died when he crashed his car on a north metro highway before dawn Tuesday morning.
The State Patrol says Marshune M. Potts, of Birch Run, Michigan, was driving westbound on Hwy. 610 east of Interstate 94 in Maple Grove when he drifted off the road and crashed around 4:42 a.m.
The Chevy Cruze left the roadway and rolled into the center median. Potts, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene, according to the crash report.
Roads were slick due to snow and ice, the crash report notes, though it's unclear if the slippery conditions factored in the crash.
The crash caused westbound Hwy. 610 to close for several hours.
